Hi everyone! I hope everyone is staying healthy and safe. Today’s Blog is how Tumbling Skies came about and why I chose another floral landscape piece!
After selling the florals quite quickly, many of you asked me to do more floral paintings and specifically, Hydrangeas. I decided to do this piece with a different perspective. I started with underpainting this canvas and then added some cloud definition. I wanted a Lyrical sky and a harmonious color palette to create a soothing feeling. The Hydrangeas are large, bold and fill up the foreground demanding the viewer to look at them first! As you get closer to them, you see purple and blue petals as well as green and off white. Just beyond the hedge of these blossoms, your eyes look out to discover rolling hills and a peaceful field of greens with golden drops of light from the sun filtering through the clouds. Swirling clouds dance in a blue sky casting their shadow and light below. I am very happy with this painting and I hope you are too! Thank you for your input and interest in my work! Gina
