Hello Everyone! I am hopeful you are all doing well and staying healthy!
I have been busy painting a lot over the last couple of months. I have been working on abstract and surrealism pieces, and decided it was time for some representational work! This painting is from a very special trip I took last September to visit a friend in Sicily. She took me to Cefalu`, a small beach town in the province of Palermo. The water is so clear and beautiful! We wandered around the cobblestone streets on the most beautiful day. The skies were blue, the air was warm and the smell of food was amazing! I took so many photos and we were even lucky enough to eat on a veranda overlooking the sea! The food, company and scenery was phenomenal. A memorable trip for sure and one that I will never forget! I decided that my next painting was going to be Cefalu`. I looked over all my photos I took that day and chose a few to combine into this painting. I decided the scene would be early morning, the sun just starting to warm the stones of the street that leads you to the sea. The buildings are old and sundrenched with lots of character, with flowers and vines spilling over terraces and sidewalks. I hope I captured the feeling I felt in Cefalu`! It truly is one of the most beautiful places I have ever been! This piece sold before it was completed! I loved painting this one. Everyday I got lost in more details and the memories of this special place! Thank you for reading today!
