Sicily Adventures

Hi Everyone, Thanks for stopping in and getting Upside Art Gallery updates!

September has been a very busy month. I was in Sicily visiting friends and taking a lot of photos for inspiration! Sicily is a beautiful part of Italy. We stayed in Ciminna, where our friends live. The Feast of Fortunata was amazing to see in person.The amount of people who filled the streets, food and baked goods were amazing! I ate way too much that night, but it was a FEAST!  One of my favorite moments in Ciminna was eating figs fright from the trees on our friends property!

 We also visited Palermo and the city is alive with culture, beauty and old world buildings. It is a large city. From churches and government buildings, statues and amazing eateries, it was hard to leave. We also went to Cefalu, a beautiful town right on the sea. We were lucky enough to have a perfect, sunny and warm day to walk on the beach and eat outdoors overlooking the sea! The views were breathtaking! 

Since getting back home, I have made homemade Crema Limoncello, pasta and have many more recipes to get to! I am also back in class with two paintings completed and started an abstract as well. In the days to come, I am very hopeful to get started on a piece inspired by my travels to Sicily! One of many, I am sure!
