Thanks for checking in with me this week! My latest commissioned piece was completed and delivered and my client loved it!
I started with the basics, perspective and sky. This was a big canvas so, it is important to get that correct! The sky changed as well as the water, as I felt it needed more light. Once I achieved the desired light, I began to pull out the highlights in sky, mountains and water. The rocks in the foreground and sand area were also defined. The reflections in the sunrise on the water seemed off at first, and then I made a change. The reflection became much broader and lit up the sail on the boat. This piece was a lot of work and had many changes until it became the piece I imagined it to be, as did my client! Which, always makes me a happy artist!
