Hello and Welcome back to Upside Art Gallery’s Blog!
The Art continues with more flowers! Poppie’s have been a big hit with everyone this year as well as Hydrangeas. I love painting all flower’s, both abstract and representational. I have tried a few different flowers this year as well, and many of you were thrilled with Lilies and Roses!
I experimented recently with a bright abstract piece. Mountains and a sunrise over a body of water. My inspiration was a piece that I had done a long time ago. Unfortunately, with improper storing and many, many moves, it is damaged but I cannot bring myself to get rid of it! It still has value in inspiring me to recreate another abstract landscape! And there may be a series of them coming up!
I love abstract painting. I also love representational painting and the detail of it. I recently finished a commissioned piece for a client who was in Greece and took many photos. What a beautiful place! He wanted me to paint a little yellow fishing boat which was anchored close to shore in the most beautiful and clear water I have ever seen! He happens to be a very good photographer and I was working from one of his photos. The detail in the water was labor intensive but it thrilled me to paint every last one of them! The yellow boat contrasted so beautifully with the blue green water, I truly loved painting it! He is very happy with it and it is hanging in his office!
My passion and energy for painting is on fire these days! I am inspired by nearly everything around me and I paint every day! Sometimes my ideas do not pan out and that is okay, as there are no failures; I am just learning what does not work for me!
Thanks for taking the time to check in with me!
