Hi Everyone! I hope you are all staying healthy and happy!
I have been very busy painting and “Practice Painting.” Practice Painting is an exercise I do to loosen up and try new styles and mediums. It helps me personally, to get better and broaden my scope in art. I enjoy painting mostly everything except portraits, but maybe one day, I will give that a try. It is always good to challenge myself to keep my art fresh! With that said, I have sold the two large Floral Paintings I have done in September and October! I practiced different types of flowers and mediums over the summer. Would they be abstract or representational? Still Life or in a garden setting? I am happy to say, so many of you messaged me with interest and suggestions! I loved it! I decided to paint them more freeform style with a nod to representational art. There will be more flowers to come on large and medium canvases so please stay tuned! This piece, Heavenly Hilltop, is an impressionistic piece with lots of light, color and movement. A colorful palette, which always excites me! A path takes you up the hill and around the trees, and then disappears into the clouds. The trees are full of color and light and the sky is big with clouds filtering the sun. The green grasses and foreground flowers are full of movement and light, and the light dappled path brings the viewer around this piece to discover what it might mean to them! This piece is available for purchase and will be on my website soon. Thank you for checking in with me today! Gina
